The completion of a CNA training program is one of the most important steps in becoming a nursing aide. While you are enrolled, you will be taught concepts that you will use to take care of the residents such as infection control, assisting in activities of daily living, performing emergency procedures, promotion of safety, and the promotion and respect of the resident’s independence. They are only given up to 4 months to do this. During that time, they will only be allowed to perform skills that they were found to be competent during training.

If he wishes to continue to work, then he must enroll in a state-certified nursing aide and pass the examination before the 4 months are up.
Certified nurse aide licenses only last for up to two years. If you want to remain eligible to work, then you will need to keep your name on the Registry with an active status. This can only be done if you were able to work within 8 hours for the last 24 months as a paid nursing assistant. If you were not able to do so, then your status will be changed into “inactive”. It can only be changed back into “active” by challenging the evaluation exams.
