Passing the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program is a crucial step in becoming a CNA in North Carolina. Because the state does not offer reciprocity or accepts endorsements, nurse aides from other states who wish to work there must also take the exam. The NNAAP exam was developed to test the competency of the nurse aide candidate in terms of skills and knowledge. They will have to pass all the tests to get into the Nurse Aide I Registry.
If the candidate is able to pass all the tests, he can expect his name to be added in the registry within 2-4 business days from his exam date. A CNAs name on the registry will remain on the list for only 2 years. To keep it on the list, the nurse aide must renew his license by submitting the renewal forms to the registry.
