You can establish eligibility to take the nursing assistant 1 exams if you have:
• Complete a nursing assistant level 1 training program that is approved by the state’s Board of Nursing.
• Complete a state-approved training program in a different state that offered at least 75 hours of training within the last 24 consecutive months.
• Complete training as a medic or a military corpsman and had worked for 400 hours paid providing nursing-related services.
• Graduated from a nursing education program within 3 years
• Passed the national background check for criminal records.
The license exams for the state of Oregon are provided by Headmaster Testing Services. The two-part examination consists of a multiple-choice written exam and a return demonstration of the nursing skills that were taught in the training program. The state of Oregon is much stricter when it comes to the renewing of licenses.
