If a person wishes to have a career as a nursing assistant in the state of Minnesota, they must first be able to finish a course that teaches the basic skills needed on the job. The training program should be approved by the state and offer 75 hours or more of instruction. The law states that for a training program to be approved, its instructors must be registered nurses who are able to comply with its requirements. To complete the program, they will be spending a few hours on lectures and skills training. Their knowledge and skills will be tested when they take the license exams.
