State-approved courses offer a minimum of 150 hours. Their curriculums consist of 50 hours of classroom training and supervised practical training in an actual clinical setting. Students are placed under the care of qualified instructors and are not allowed to perform any procedure that has not yet been taken up in the classroom. Some online courses are available. However, you will only be allowed to take 24 hours of instruction online and the remainder must be held in a offline facility. This way you will receive the hands-on skills practice necessary for the job.

As a nursing aide student, you will learn a wide array of topics ranging from infection control, mental health, communication techniques, emergency procedures, assisting patients with their daily activities, as well as other concepts in the fundamentals of nursing.
