Becoming a CNA in the state of Alaska can be one of the best ways for you to enter the medical field. Alaska is considered to be one of the best places to become a nurse aide since they offer very high pay rates for the job. To become one, you must complete a state-approved training program, as well as pass the competency exams and the background checks. The program you enroll in must be state approved certification training consisting of a minimum of 140 hours of instruction. The classes need to include at least 60 hours of classroom instruction and 80 hours of instruction in a health care setting. Upon completion of approved training, submitting a photo ID, fingerprinting, and a federal background check, you become eligible to take the nurse’s aide exam.
The program has to be approved by the state to ensure that you will be eligible to take the exams. You may apply for the exams once you are through with your training.
