If you wish to work as a nursing assistant in California, you must first know what the requirements are. Like most states, you can only work in a state-approved nursing facility if you have a CNA certification. The certification process in this state begins by enrolling in a state-approved training program and ends with passing the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program examination or NNAAP exam.

Nursing assistant training in California takes longer to complete compared to other states. Approved training programs are required by the state to offer no less than 150 hours of training.
