Completing a state-approved training program is one of the ways for of becoming eligible to take the CNA license exams. According to the law, these programs are required to offer no less than 175 hours of training. These hours will be divided into 75 hours for theories and 100 hours for clinical exposure. Depending on which program you enroll in, it can take you from 4 to 6 months to complete.
For those who were already hired as an uncertified nursing assistant by a nursing facility, they will need to immediately receive training and pass the examinations as soon as possible. They are only given up to 4 months to do this. During that time, they will only be allowed to perform skills that they were found to be competent during training.
Nursing student may also challenge the CNA license exams if they want to have a career as a nursing aide. All they have to do is provide a copy of their transcripts that shows that they took up the Fundamentals of Nursing and had passing grades.
