If you want to become a nurse aide, you will need to meet the requirements of both the Federal and the State. All nurse aides should enroll in a CNA training course to learn the basic knowledge and skills that they will be using when taking care of the residents like infection control, mental health, rehabilitation, assisting in daily activities, and performing emergency procedures. The training courses in Missouri are composed of 75 hours of Theories and 100 hours of clinical exposure.
There are some individuals who have been hired by a licensed nursing facility to work as an uncertified nurse aide. They may do this provided that the individual immediately enrolls in an approved training course and take the license exams within 4 months from the start of his/her work. During that time, the individual will only be allowed to perform procedures that have been taught in the course and he/she is found competent in.
For those who get authorization from the Registry to take the exams, they will only be given one change to pass them. If they fail either the written or the skills exam, they will have to enroll and complete a training course before they will be allowed to take the exams again.
Those who become certified will need to maintain their listing in the registry by working an 8 hour shift in a care facility during that time. You will receive a renewal notice prior to your license expiring which you will need to submit showing your employer’s work verification. If for some reason you do not submit your verification in time you will need to submit a letter from your employer specifying the time you worked, a copy of your pay stub and a copy of your W-2 form.

Since this is a small village with only a few hundred people living there, there are no major hospitals of health care clinics that are situated in the area. Most doctors are on call from other nearby cities. Examples of the different clinics present there however, include DDC- DNA Diagnostics Center, and G & G Treatment Center. photo attribution: niels_olson
