To work at a long-term care facility as a nursing assistant in the state of Montana, one should first be able get a certification. Getting a nursing assistant certification in Montana, you would have to undergo and finish a state-approved CNA training program first.
You should also be able to pass the state and federal background check as well as the mandatory physical exams. After finishing the course, you need to pass both the written and skills test in order to gain the nursing assistant certification. Your name will be entered in the state’s nurse aide registry where potential employers can check your certification.
CNA license holders from other states are welcome to work in Montana. They will need to apply for reciprocity before they will be allowed to work in a nursing facility. When you apply, you must have an active status on your state’s Registry as well as a good relationship.
When applying, like other applicants, you will be required to pass the criminal background checks. These checks will be done at federal and state levels. You must not have any records of neglect, abuse, or misuse of their properties otherwise you will not be allowed to work in Montana.
