In the state of Alaska to receive your certification to work as a certified nursing assistant it is a requirement to take a state approved CNA training program. The program you select needs to offer a total of at least 140 hours of instruction. This instruction is typically split to 60 hours of classroom coursework and 80 hours of experience in a health care setting. Once you finish your class instruction you must be able to pass the state exams.
The examination is composed of a written and a skills demonstration exam. You are required to pass both parts in order to get your license. In order to know the results of you exams, you must submit to the state’s Board of Nursing your results of the background check.
