NE License Information System Search
The state of Nebraska requires individuals to undergo the required CNA training in order for them to be entered into the registry. The required number of hours of training is 75 hours which shall include both a classroom and clinical session. Passing the written and skills test will also be needed in order to become a certified nursing assistant. The state also requires that the individual be at least 16 years old at the time of the application; can understand and write the English language; and pass the competency evaluation administered by the state. The candidate should not also have any record of conviction with crimes which are related to drugs, theft, felony, and violence. There is no expiry date for nursing assistants in Nebraska as long as they are continually working in the capacity of the job. They will automatically be entered into the registry by showing proof of employment.
The types of status that you can see on the results page can range from Active, Lapsed, or Ineligible. An active status means that the CNA has continued to work for the last two years as a paid employee. This means that they can be hired by employers. A Lapsed status means that the worker have not submitted any proof of employment for the last two years or has failed to submit his or her test scores. While the Ineligible status denotes having some disciplinary action imposed on the worker due to abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of a resident’s property and that the person cannot be employed.
