CNA Training

Requirements to Enroll in a Program
Each institution has its own set of requirements upon enrollment. Many of them however will require the following from their potential students:
• Be at least 18 years old
• Be physically and mentally healthy
• Have no records that prevent him or her from being certified as a nursing aide
• Possess a high school diploma or something equivalent
• Speak and understand Basic English
NNAAP Examination
The NNAAP exams are composed of a written multiple-choice knowledge test and a skills evaluation. Candidates who have some difficulty in reading English can opt to take the oral version of the knowledge test instead. The request for the oral examination must be submitted along with other requirements for the exams. Candidates must pass all tests to get certified.

Re-certification
CNA certifications are only valid for 24 consecutive months. To keep your eligibility to work as a nursing aide, you must keep your certification active. You must have worked for pay as a nursing aide for at least 8 consecutive hours prior to your certification’s expiration date.
