Becoming a nursing assistant is one of the best choices that you can make today. Because of the high demand for this profession there will always be work ready for fresh graduates. One great benefit of becoming one is that the training does not take that long to finish. Most of the training programs found in the state can be completed within a matter of 6 months or less. To complete a program, you must have 75 hours of classes and 100 hours of clinical skills training. A basic competency for enrolling in a program is that you must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma.

As a nursing assistant student, you will be taught in various topics like infection control, patient’s rights, mental health and rehabilitation, and the different medical terms. You will also be trained in the different nursing skills that are used on a daily basis to take care of the patients.
