If you are planning on becoming a nursing assistant in this state, then you must first comply with the different requirements. First of all, you must be at least 18 years old to become a nursing assistant. You must also have a high school diploma or something that is equivalent to it. These things are necessary for you to enroll in a CNA training program. You will not be able to take the license exams if you have not received any proper education and training. The program that you choose should be approved by the state.

As a nursing assistant student, you will be trained in the Fundamentals of Nursing and the different skills that you will be used in taking care of the patients. Examples of such skills include assisting in ambulation, doing passive ROM exercises, offering and removing bed pans, catheter care, changing bed linens while the patient is still in the bed, as well as other basic nursing care skills. You will also get to perform what you will learn in an actual healthcare setting. Depending on the program, it will take you about 6 months to complete your training. After your training, you will then become eligible to apply for the license exams.  You cannot work in this state if you do not have a nurse aide certification.
