Taking on the state license exams is a necessary step in becoming a nursing assistant. You will not be able to find any work in Florida as a nursing assistant if you do not have a CNA license. There are different requirements that must be completed before you can take on the license exams. The most important among them are the completion of a training program and the passing of the federal and state background checks for criminal records. You cannot take the license exams if you do not have any of these.  The training programs that are being offered in Florida will take about 6 months to complete. As for the background checks, you only need to send the payment along with the rest of the application requirements.

The license exams for this state are composed of a written a skills evaluation. In the written exam, you will have 90 minutes to answer all 60 multiple-choice questions. These questions will include 10 pretest items which will not be scored. As for the skills evaluation, you will be asked to perform 5 randomly selected nursing skills in a given scenario. You will have to perform all the skills satisfactorily to pass this part. You will also need to pass all the tests to get your name entered in the state’s registry.
