If you do not know how to become a nursing assistant, then you should first know what the different requirements are. The first thing that you must do is to enroll in a training program that is approved by the state. These programs are found all over the state and are offered by different institutions like technical colleges and community training centers.

During instruction you must have at least 40 hours of clinical experience in a nursing facility. Once you pass a security background check, and submit your application and school transcripts, then you may take the examination. Many of these institutions are also authorized to handle the CNA competency exams. If you pass the exams, your name will be entered on the online registry.

The competency exams for this state are composed of two parts, a written and a skills demonstration exam. To get your name entered on the registry, you have to pass all the exams. Every applicant is given three tries to pass the exams. If you fail for the third time, you must then undergo retraining before you are allowed to take the exams again. Medics that were trained in the military are also allowed to apply for the exams. When they apply, they must be able to provide proof of their training and experience.
