You have to pass a nursing assistant program if you would like to work as a nursing assistant in the state of Montana. The state is one of the top places in the United States where there is a large demand for CNAs.
The first step in becoming a nursing aide is to enroll in a state-approved training program. Because of the increase in the demand for this profession, you will not have any problems looking for a program. Certified programs are required by the state to offer a minimum of 75 hours of classroom lectures on the basics of nursing and 16 hours of clinical duties, which will be done in a nursing home.
After finishing the course, you need to pass the state competency examination for nursing assistant certification. There are several requirements which one should be able to pass before their certifications would be released if they pass the exam. The license exams for this state are composed of a written and a skills demonstration exam. To pass the skills tests, you must be able to perform 9 skills satisfactorily. You can view the list of the skills at http://www.dphhs.mt.gov/cna/SkillsChecklist.pdf. If you pass the exams, you will then be registered as a certified nursing assistant in the state and will be able to work in a nursing facility.
In order for you to work independently as a nursing aide, your name must first be entered on the state’s registry. When you apply, the facility will have to look up your name on the list. In today’s system, they will be able to verify you online by simply going to http:/app.mt.gove/lookup/. When they look you up, all they will need is to enter your name, the city you are in, and its zip code.
