If you want to have a CNA license, then you must first receive the proper training from a state-approved training program and then take on the competency exam. The examination is composed of a written and a skills demonstration exam. You have to pass both of them to get your name in the state’s nurse aide registry.
Once your name will be entered there, you will then receive your license. There are some occasions where the written portion, which is the first exam, is replaced with an oral examination. The competency exams will cover all that were taken up during your training. Unlike other states where you must take the license exams within 2 years from the completion of your training, you may still apply in Arizona even if you have exceeded that time.
